Top 5 Biotech-related Podcasts

 

This is a list of the top biotech podcasts that we use to keep you informed with the latest breakthroughs in our beloved field of biotechnology.

Podcasts are a convenient way to make menial tasks- such as cleaning or doing laundry- more of an educational matter. I am a massive podcast fan and I have been listening to a plethora of different podcasts since early 2014, however I have only recently started to harness their learning potential.

After lots of listening, I have found what I believe to be the most productive podcasts in the space of biotech, including various discussion topics such as, recent news, new business ventures and a more in depth analysis of investment trends and business opportunities.

Breaking Biotech

Breaking Biotech is a podcast hosted by Matthew Lepoire, a former metabolic scientist. He discusses his interests that surround the biopharma sector. He goes through an in-depth analysis of biotechnology companies in order to find good quality trading opportunities.




Biotech 2050

Biotech 2050 is a guest based think tank hosted by Alok Tayi, PhD aimed at recording the disruptions within the biotech sector over the next 50 years. The guests on this podcasts include founders and CEO's of both emerging startups as well as already cemented companies and figures within the space. The topics range from medtech to biopharma, it is not only informing but also inspiring.



The Long Run

The Long Run, hosted by Luke Timmerman is a thought provoking, guest based podcast. It includes in depth conversations with biotech newsmakers, that talk about the rough journey of transforming research into a startup. These episodes often expand further than the science and business of the companies featured, discussing social issues such as gender equality within the biotech industry. 


  

Business of Biotech

Business of Biotech podcast, hosted by Matt Pillar, is a weekly podcast that is exclusively aimed at new and emerging biopharma firms. This podcast tackles, the multiple trials and tribulations startups need to conquer, including funding, human resources (HR) , regulatory and CMC considerations. All topics are discussed with insight from peer founders who have taken the path of research to clinical success.




The Simple Biotech Podcast 

The Simple Biotech Podcast, is a gateway between the academic and non-academic worlds of the biotech industry, making it the most friendly podcast to members of the general public who are curious about biotechnology. James Ruhle, the host is a serial entrepreneur, who discusses with his guests (which tend to be made up of researchers, founders and investors) about the ever growing advancements in the biotech industry.



Those are my top 5 podcasts that I am currently following as a way to stay informed with ever growing sector we love.
